March’s Daily Facebook Live Meditations and Resources
In an effort to help everyone connect and find a few minutes of mental peace, I’ve started sharing meditations via Facebook Live every day at 12p pst. You can watch them live or any time after on my Facebook page here: Jessica Kinni. I’m posting links to the meditations for anyone who might want to do them on their own, so I will be compiling a list and updating it when possible with each meditation. Additionally, if you have a meditation recommendation, please scroll to the bottom and leave it in the comments. Thank you!
March 31st, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: The Bench Meditation
This is an evolution of yesterday’s Blank Page Meditation, where we journey to a bench and see who joins us there. I LOVED this meditation and found it very easy to follow along. I also love hearing about other meditators experiences with this visualization. I felt the love and safety of my grandfather on the bench. What will you feel?
March 30th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: The Blank Page Meditation
In this exercise we focus on a blank piece of paper and notice if anything appears on the paper. I enjoyed this visualization and it was interesting to hear about all of the different experiences we had during the meditation. Josef Siegle referred me to this meditation and you can learn more about his work and meditations on his Facebook page.
March 29th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: 15 minute Reset Meditation
Today we expanded to an additional 5 minutes on yesterday’s 10 minute Meditation that was unguided and we each had our own personal intentions for this meditation.
March 28th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: 10 minute Reset Meditation
Today’s 10 minute Meditation was unguided and we each had our own personal intentions for this meditation.
March 27th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Choose Your Own Adventure Meditation
We all have different needs right now, so for this meditation we all selected an intention and focused on that intention. I chose to sit in silence. What will you choose?
March 26th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Working with Difficulties Meditation
Today we tried a Meditation for Working with Difficulties from the uclahealth.org Mindful Awareness Research Center. I really enjoyed this meditation, but I feel like I would get more out of it if I extended the length of the meditation a bit, so I might try an extended version in the future for a Facebook Live session!
March 25th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Mindful Breathing Meditation
Today we’re trying a Mindful Breathing Meditation from UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. This meditation can be found at ggia.berkeley.edu I enjoyed this meditation, and I will admit that it was hard at first for me, but once I started focusing on the breath as directed, it got much easier for me to relax. Have you tried this one, what did you think about the meditation?
March 24th, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Bringing Your Mind Back From Thoughts
There have been a lot of questions from people about how to clear their mind of distracting thoughts during meditation, so I found this Bringing Your Mind Back From Thoughts Meditation online at: MindfulnessExercises.com and it’s a great exercise using snow globe imagery for acknowledging thoughts and moving past them. I hope you enjoy it.
March 23rd, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Sending Love
Today's Meditation is "Sending Love" and it's an adaptation I made from the "Sitting in Silence" meditation we did last week from the book Intuitive Studies by Gordon Smith.
March 22nd, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Releasing Anxiety
This Releasing Anxiety meditation is from Kate James and can be found on Insight Timer (a free app). Loved this one and I recommend giving it a listen any time you need to relax.
March 21st, 2020 - Watch on Facebook: Peace and Calm Meditation
This is a 5 minute meditation that I wrote and I hope you like it. I felt inspired to create a meditation that would help to shift some of the anxiety that a lot of people are feeling into a more calm energy. I hope you like it. I’d love feedback on this one since it came from my mind so please leave me a comment, Id’ sure appreciate it. PS - background music courtesy of Insight TImer
March 20th, 2020 - To watch on Facebook: Positive Affirmation Meditation
Today I compiled a list of affirmations from the website Live Bold and Bloom and have organized them into a short meditation for everyone to try. The ambient noise in the background was from Insight Timer.
Here is the list of affirmations I used:
With every breath out, I release stress from my body.
All the muscles in my body are releasing and relaxing.
Every cell in my body vibrates with energy and health.
I feel joy and contentment at this moment right now.
I approve of myself and love myself deeply and completely.
I can tap into a wellspring of inner happiness anytime I wish.
I fill my mind with positive and nourishing thoughts.
By allowing myself to be happy, I inspire others to be happy as well.
My home is a peaceful sanctuary where I feel safe and happy.
I find joy and pleasure in the most simple things in life.
I trust myself and know my inner wisdom is my best guide.
In all that I say and do, I choose peace.
I send peace from myself into the world.
I am grateful for this moment and find joy in it.
I am free of anxiety, and a calm inner peace fills my mind and body.
I gently and easily return to the present moment.
All is well in my world. I am calm, happy, and content.
March 19th, 2020 - To watch on Facebook: Loving-Kindness Meditation
Today’s Loving-Kindness meditation takes about 10 minutes and comes from Emma Seppala, Science Director of Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. I found this on the Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center webpage. This meditation starts with a visualization for receiving love and then expands out to giving love to friends, family, acquaintances and then the planet. Let’s send some love out today.
March 18th, 2020 - To watch on Facebook: Sitting In the Silence Meditation
Today we did a 5 minute “Sitting in the Silence” meditation from the book Intuitive Studies by Gordon Smith this meditation is a great way to start your day or clear your head any time of day when you are feeling overwhelmed. There is minimal direction beyond just sitting in your space and I think it is great for anyone looking for a brief mental reset.
March 17th, 2020 - To watch on Facebook: Self Love Meditation
This Self Love meditation is a wonderful way to give yourself a little TLC. I found this one on Insight Timer - a free app that I LOVE! If you join, be sure to add me as a friend! The meditation I played is called The Healing Power of Love by Linda Hall (I absolutely love Linda’s meditations, she is very calming and makes it easy for beginners like myself to follow along).
